If 270 feet of antique picket fencing are to be used to enclose the garden, find the dimensions of the garden. What is the length and width?
Perimeter is length plus width times 2. You know that width is 2/3 length so substituting letters, we can say that 2(L + 2/3L) = 270 where L is the length. I will let you solve for the unknowns.
An architect designs a rectangular flower garden such that the width is exactly two-thirds of the length.?
Reqd Ideas to grow Trees & Plants for Outdoor Huge Garden, Landscape for Attracting Birds and Butterflies ?
We have Birds like Parrout, Pigeon,Eagle, Parrot, Sparrow but No butterflies come
1. If you want to attract Birds and Butterflies then you should grow plants that are favorite for them.
2.For attracting birds you should grow plants and trees that provide food and shelter to them.
3.As you ask for landscaping your outdoor huge garden, grow trees like Singapore Cherry (Muntingia Calabura). As this tree produces small fruits, Birds arrive for having their food. If the birds like the surroundings then they would also starts to reside in that place.
4.For attracting butterflies grow more flowering plants (preferably Red, Orange or any brightly coloured flowers). The flowers should also have more nectar.
5.If you grow plants which produce white coloured flowers then Moths will come to feed on the nectar during night.

I am looking to replace my garden fence with a wall and landscape the garden?
is it better to get a builder to do this or let the landscape gardener do it all?
Also any ideas on cost? it will be 1meter high and circa 9 feet in length, i want it to be decorative on the garden side ie some built in plant holders.

What is the style of painting in which scenes of terraced lawns and gardens are depicted?
These paintings usually have stone steps or walled gardens and are very idealistic. Can anyone tell me if this style of painting is of a certain genre, or if there is a particular painter who is known for this style?
It’s a landscape painting or nature painting
do most people mulch their landscape beds in Spring or Autumn and why?
also, how pruning shrubs, etc..is also done in Autumn? how compared to Spring?
how Spring differs from Autumn in the types of work people do to their garden, landscape beds and which months are most popular for this and why?
how about other things..such as lawn, planting, etc and why?
please explain what you can…how this depends? and why?
thanks for your answers!
ranger gave you the proper pruning directions and why. i’d like to share the mulch issue with you. when i was younger, prior to disability, i found that regular mulch was not only costly but repetitive annually due to decomposition. i then turned to small decorative rocks. little did i realize that they built up heat from the day and evaporated the water so the plants weren’t getting their due. a few years back, while relandscaping the area i discovered the rubber mulch. it is sold at both lowes, home depot, and probably menards. it is made from recycled ties, comes in variety of colorations(holds the color well), and totally suites the bill. neeeds replentishing only if your’re expanding the beds. no maintenance annually or otherwise. always neat and tidy. several landscapers bring people by yearly to show how well it looks. hope this suggestion helps.
How much do landscape companies generally charge to till a garden?
approx size is 40×40 feet
My garden is 25ftx25ft, and I looked into 2 garden companies to till my garden and they told me it would be $60 – $80. I also put an ad on Craigslist.org that I wanted someone to till my garden and I had a few offers for $50. I ended up renting a tiller from Grand Rental Station for $40 per day, and I tilled most of my backyard including the garden twice over. If you have a large garden I would just assume buying a tiller. You can buy them used from Craiglist too. I live in Virginia and it would probably cost $60 to $100 for a company to till a garden that size.

What is the best method for having mini vegetable gardens in planters?
My wife and I want to use some large planters for veggie gardens due to limited space. I have seen some plastic planters that would fit on a deck. Would plastic planters be better than other materials?
I’m thinking something like 2′ x 6′ or 3′ x 8′.
here is what i am doing, do to health we can’t take care of ground level garden, so i bought some of the plastic/rubber type stock waterers (110 gal), used empty plastic bottles in bottom for filler, added sand, then bagged garden soil. i have lettuce, spinach, green onions and radishes already up and doing well! plan to buy more waterers during the winter, a few a month, then come spring i will plant everything in the tubs, won’t have to get on my knees to plant or weed, can walk around each planter to take care of the plants and pick the produce.
Does metal garden furniture stay outside during the winter or should I put it in the shed?
It depends on what type of metal – steel will rust. If it is steel it’s likely to be painted or protected in some way but if moisture finds its way inside it will rust. I would say, if in doubt, put it in the shed.
